What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is an ancient tool of spiritual teaching that reveals to us vital patterns in our individual personalities, the nature of our souls, and even the direct experience of ultimate reality. Studying and practicing with the Enneagram can bring us into deeper contact with the fullness of our lives, helping us to open to the depths of our true selves, where we and the Divine Mystery are not two, not separate. Studying the Enneagram to better understand psychological personalities – our own and those of others – is a popular use of its insights; yet, this class will primarily focus on the spiritual wisdom of awakening and liberation it offers.
Who Is This Class For?
Perhaps you’ve studied the Enneagram of personality types and are wondering what lies below and beyond those useful teachings. Maybe you’re a spiritual seeker, having had intimations or experiences of the Ultimate, and you’d like to go deeper. Perhaps you don’t know why you’re drawn to all this, you’re welcome too.
About the Course
This course consists of ten classes, based on the excellent book by Sandra Maitri, The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram: Nine Faces of the Soul (2001). Each class will include a talk and multiple breakout groups for individual inquiry exercises. We’ll work with our immediate experience, assisted by the teachings, to open to the truths of what they tell us about ourselves and our spiritual unfolding.

We will meet on Thursdays, from 5:30 to 7:15 pm Pacific Time, via Zoom, on the following dates:
Introduction and Overview
November 30, 2023 –This session is open to the committed and the curious alike. I’ll be providing an overview of the class and answering questions so you can determine if this is a fit for you. Please feel free to attend without any sense of obligation.

Suggested donation for the ten classes is $400, with half due by December 14th and the balance by February 8th. Those repeating the class are offered a 50% discount. Sliding scale available on request; no one turned away for lack of funds.

Keith Heller has been a thirty-year student of the Enneagram, working with it extensively in his personal and professional lives. He has spent a similar amount of time as a student of Zen Buddhism, several years in the Diamond Approach school which works deeply with the Enneagram, and is now an active student of Advaita (non-duality), studying with his wife, the teacher and author Erin Reese.
